Nick and Emily got engaged on October 1st, 2007, outside of Bi-Rite Creamery, an amazing (organic) ice cream shop in San Francisco. Nick proposed on his knee with a beautiful (plastic) ring on top of a brownie sundae. And, with a mouth full of brownie sundae, Emily said yes. At the time, they were traveling around North America, exploring national parks, forevertrons, and potential new places to live. Because they got engaged in San Francisco, they figured it was only natural that they move to the Bay Area, and so they relocated with all their junk and a cat named Computer to picturesque Oakland.

A year later, they finally decided to get their acts together and get married.
